2021 Update - Changes to the Programme

Hi all, as our members may have noticed, this year we have been very distant and hard to reach. Obviously the situation of the past 15 months has been less than ideal, and have impacted many parts of the world, including us. However this is a different change - our admin who began this programme is beginning her training to become a registered veterinary nurse, something she has been pursuing for a long time, and therefore less able to manage a programme such as this. Due to the development, it just seems unfair to offer a half-backed training regime where we cannot be reached quickly or sometimes for months when help is needed. It is simply not good enough for the handlers that work so hard with their dogs. But we do not want to just suddenly shut down and leave any who want to remain with us without any support.
Therefore, with these thoughts in mind, we will not be shutting down entirely, but instead changing our abilities. We will be operating on a basis that concerns already trained dogs that wish to have that backup of uniform and cards and advice if they require it. We will still offer our training program for members to go through, and certificates when levels are passed, along with information cards, voluntary identification cards, and other useful resources.
We hope that this change will allow us to still be useful while lightening the expectations and therefore not letting anyone down while we pursue our own lives in addition to helping others. The programme will remain free, the only expenses being uniform and resources, depending on the need. Members may still use our name and ask for backup or advice in situation where they need a little help. Hopefully this adaption of our use will reflect well on us all and allow us to properly help our members but well within our ability of time and effort. Our email, which was difficult to keep up with, has been deleted to lessen the load. We are now only reachable by our Instagram account which is under @mindguides_uk
Thank you for being with us.
